Making it easier for everyone: How Booking.com securely decomposed their monolith with GraphQL federation

At Booking.com, we decomposed our monolith into 120 federated subgraphs handling more than 6B requests-per-day. As you might imagine, adoption at this scale brings challenges in schema governance, compliance, and security. Learn how we overcame each of these challenges by scaling our schema design and integration processes, building operational pipelines to ensure PCI/PII compliance, leveraged linting, and plans for automated pentesting for more than 1,500 queries and mutations.
